Do you reminisce about the past, be it distant or recent? Do you seek to architect the future, to collectively imagine a new world—a better world—through the lens of what has come before? Do you want to see your work on futurist imaginings of nostalgia and counterculture in a grassroots zine?
Anemoia is a nostalgia for a time you’ve never known. The word won’t be found in conventional dictionaries—rather, it’s created, fleshed into consciousness by those who yearn and dream of the unfamiliar. In winter quarter, Future Café delved into the complexities of nostalgia and counterculture, examining each through the lens of the past, present, and future.
We want to invite you to be a part of the conversation: for our third iteration of the Future Café zine, Post-X, we’re inviting submissions from any University of Chicago undergraduate related to nostalgia or counterculture. Post-X welcomes the experimental: feel free to submit pieces of art, essays, poems, or any creative style that speaks to you. You can view Post-X #1 here and Post-X #2 here.
Our submission deadline is 5pm on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Send your completed submission to postxzine@gmail.com, along with your name, pronouns, and a short bio. Feel free to reach out to coordinators Audrey Scott and Katie Ambrose with any questions.
