Faisal Devji and Paul Apostolidis discuss Islamic and Christian fundamentalism, two kinds of extreme religious practice that have recently found new expression in the age of mass communication. Devji and Apostolidis track the historical trajectories of the resurgence in radical Christian and Islamic extremism, and thus bring to the surface underlying features of forms of religious fundamentalism today.

Dr. Faisal Devji is a professor of history at the New School.

Dr. Paul Apostolidis is a professor of political science at Whitman College, where he also serves as the Judge and Mrs. Timothy A Paul Chair of Political Science.
