Gail Davies and Rich PellBaroque Practices for a Post-Natural History
Monday, June 2, 2014As intellectual critiques of ‘nature’ gather pace and ideas of nature multiply across the social sciences, humanities, and scientific practice, the question of how to relate these conversations to the common places and public cultures nurturing attachments to multiple natures becomes pressing. This seminar brings together a geographer and an artist reflecting on the creation and distribution of affective intensities and interruptions, as these post genomic natures and post natural histories become enmeshed in the creative and sensual practices of science, art, and everyday life.
