Future Café is a student-organized series that provides the opportunity and space for undergraduates to collectively imagine utopian possibilities and long-term futures. Join us for our next meeting to discuss what institutions will look like 100, 500, or 5,000 years from now.

As we move into an increasingly uncertain future, what might the future of institutions look like? Fundamental structures that organize society are constantly changing, adapting, and eroding. The American university system has already demonstrated its vulnerability in recent years, but what might this mean for education as a whole? What might the future hold for the once ubiquitous idea of a family unit? What of the governmental and political structures of nation states, what of nation states themselves? What might these shifts entail for the broader economic institutions of markets, capital, and corporations? What future liberation or limitations might this mean for the world as we know it today?

This event is free and open to all University of Chicago undergraduate students; registration is recommended.
