"How One Works" will begin with a screening of The Laughing Alligator (1979), filmed by Chilean director Juan Downey during his time with the Yanomami, as well as clips from The Ax Fight (1975, Asch & Chagnon). The screening will be followed by a discussion of the films and an essay by Prof. Taussig, titled "The Corn Wolf: Writing Apotropaic Texts."
